BP1861G (Gouby G+d) – Satin 28 (R18)
Note: Gouby obverse G is the modified version of obverse F (Freeman 4) which Freeman never recorded. It exists in several stages of progressive modification but each stage bears the key identifier of a centrally cut “fishtail” to the outer ribbon (on obverse Gouby F/Freeman 4 it was cut left of centre)
In the 2003 edition of his book “The Early British Bronze ‘Bun’ Pennies 1860 to 1865 and their Varieties”, John Jerrams’ census (up to September 2001) recorded 3 specimens.
